Happy New Year

As we enter into a New Year, many will start the year anticipating many different things.

It is also a time for reflection as well as looking forward. The Bible challenges us to reflect and also to look forward.

Some of us will be glad the last year has passed. Some will have lost loved ones, maybe even lost jobs and businesses and are hoping that a New Year brings better, happier times.

The Bible brings us a message of Good News, that we can know God’s presence and help day by day. God has provided an opportunity for us to know Him through His Son the Lord Jesus.

God knew that as we look back we can regret things we have done and said, in face the Bible calls the poor choices we have made, Sin. Ultimately this sin will result in us not being in Heaven once we have passed from this earth.

God’s love is demonstrated in the giving of His Son the Lord Jesus, through trusting in Him and asking for our Sin (our wrongs things) to be forgiven, we can know God’s salvation.

At this time of year, many people make New Year’s Resolutions. There are things they want to change in their lives which they “resolve” to change as they enter into a New Year.

I wonder if you will resolve to live for God? Accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour is the first step in a changed life for God.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor. 5 v 17
