Christmas 2020 Like None Other

Many of can’t wait to say goodbye to 2020 and hope that 2021 will be a better year.

Many have suffered throughout the year in one way or another as the impact of COVID-19 has not only brought death, but financial loss, redundancy, health challenges along with the feeling of isolation to name a few.

Yet at this Christmas time we would like to emphasis the message of hope and Good News that the Bible (God’s word) brings to you.

The angels declared the good news that a Saviour had been born, as we recount the story of Christmas from the Bible we start building a picture of this promised one who came to change the world.

Many of us would love to change the events of the past. Not just 2020 but other events and circumstances that have impacted us.

If you could, would you change the event of the Lord Jesus being born and therefore bringing about the celebration of Christmas?

But what are we celebrating?

As our Christmas 2020 will go down in history as the year when we had to decide who we could and couldn’t see. I wonder if you will continue to be isolated from have the Lord Jesus in your plans.

Jesus came into this world for you, are you celebrating this? The wrong that we have done before God (the Bible calls this sin) isolates us from God. Yet God in his love and grace sent the Lord Jesus to pay the price that our sin demanded. Jesus dying on the cross at Calvary enables you to receive Eternal Life if you repent of your sin and trust in the Lord Jesus as your Saviour.

As you give and receive gifts this Christmas time will you be accepting God’s gift of peace? The opportunity to know you are right with God by asking for your sins to be forgiven.

As we turn our back on 2020, please don’t turn your back on the Lord Jesus who makes it possible for you to have a Christmas like None Other.

I’m celebrating the Lord Jesus as my Saviour, what about you?
