Who Are We?

We are a group of Christians from all walks of life, who have one great thing in common; we have come to realise that Jesus Christ lives and that He can give us real peace with God, through faith in Him.

What Happens in a Gospel Hall?

The Gospel Hall is a place where those who love and follow the Lord Jesus gather for worship, prayer, and Bible teaching and where those who want to find out more about God can also come.

All meetings at the Gospel Hall are based on the foundations described in the Bible (Acts 2:41-42): “Then they that gladly received His word were baptized…… And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”.

Baptism

The first step for a Christian who has trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ, this is baptism by immersion in water.

Apostles’ doctrine

The teaching in the New Testament which guides us as to how we should conduct ourselves individually and as a church. We therefore meet to study God’s Word, the Bible.

Fellowship

The Bible makes it clear that meeting together with other Christians in the local church is not simply a casual matter, but we all have an on-going responsibility to our fellow Christians.

Breaking of Bread

In the New Testament we find that believers met to break bread (Acts ch 20 v 7). The Lord Jesus also said to his disciples, in the upper room before he went to the cross. “This do in remembrance of me”. This is an opportunity for those who have been obedient to His word (as set out above) to meet to worship and remember the Saviour.

Prayers

The way in which as individuals and together as a church, we can speak to God.

Why the name ‘Gospel Hall’?

Gospel means GOOD NEWS and that is the very thing we want to share. In a world of disappointment and confusion the Bible provides hope no matter what our situation may be. The Bible is therefore central to all of our meetings and activities and we would love to share it with you.

To which denomination do we belong?

The Christians who meet at the Gospel Hall do not belong to any denomination or take any distinctive title other than that of Christians; we believe this to be in accordance with God’s Word, the Bible.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (The Bible)
